Funny Story

Mr. Smiley has a newfound fondness for the movie Toy Story 3.  He especially loves Bonnie, the little girl whose mother runs the Sunnyside Daycare where all Andy's toys (except Woody) move.  

Five Months

Grady turned 5 months old Wednesday. It's so hard to believe! And, as with every new month, he has plenty of news in the growth and development area to share...

When he went to the doctor for his cold, which, thankfully, went away pretty quickly, he weighed 17 pounds 3 ounces, up almost a pound since his last well-baby (about three weeks before). He measured 25 3/4 inches, which means he's almost an inch taller. This baby knows how to grow! He's wearing exclusively 9 and 12 month clothing, believe it or not. He — just this week — moved up to a size 3 diaper. His FuzziBunz diapers have been adjusted to 3s all around to accommodate this growing boy, too.

He seems to be approaching all the milestones at great speed, too. He's been rolling from tummy to back since he was about 3 months old. Now, he is ready to roll from back to tummy. We're just waiting for it to happen...any day now. We've even seen him practicing in his crib on the video monitor, which is quite entertaining.

He's also working on sitting up now.  He still requires help, but it won't be long before he's sitting up on his own. People aren't kidding when they say it goes by fast, but we are soaking it all up day by day...

He's ready for his first Christmas, and Santa thinks this little boy has been good all year (well, the part of the year he's been here at least). Merry Christmas everyone from L-O-G!!

He, of course, slept through all the decorating. But, he was quite pleased when he saw it all lit up the next day...

How I Roll

Grady has quite the set-up at the gallery. While Mom works, he watches Baby Einstein and plays in the Pack-n-Play. The Boppy was an added luxury this week (being propped helped this stuffy baby breathe better). He has an array of "stations," but this guy seems to dig his little flat screen and lounge area best!

Sick Day

Grady caught his first cold (let's hope that's all it is, anyway). He's spending his day at home getting plenty of rest and enjoying Toy Story 3...
A little cold isn't going to keep those Grady smiles away...

Friends on the Porch

Our little Bean is 4 months old!  To celebrate, his Godfamily + Uncle Daniel and Sandy decided to come and have a chili night with us and ease Grady's anxiety over upcoming inoculations.  

Happy Morning!

Since he was about a month old, Grady has had an early-morning routine of watching a little TV (don't judge) while his moms do housework and/or get ready for work. This is how we discovered the true magic that is Netflix Instant on Wii. They offer a plethora of age-appropriate entertainment for our Bean.

By far, his favorite is the Backyardigans (mentioned in a previous post). Here he is this week talking to his backyard friends and dancing and singing along to their catchy tunes. Apologies in advance for bad camera skills and the spit-up finale!

Blessed

Grady wore his great-grandfather's Christening gown Sunday for his very own special Christening.

We were happy to have his Baptism at the same place where his moms met many years ago.

It was a very special day for all of us. And, our little guy was a trooper through all the dress-wearing and head-watering. No tears — just funny faces. Perfection.

Trick-or-Treat

 he enjoyed hanging with his winning friends (Mr. T and Oscar the Grouch).

On a Roll

Grady was on a roll...literally...this past Saturday. He surprised his moms by rolling over — three times. One of these moments was actually caught on video, so you can see the cuteness for yourself...

Now, it's just old hat...

Over the Hill

It will be awhile before Grady can even count to 40, but he was happy (below photo does not provide good proof, however) to help celebrate his Aunt Lucy's four decades of life (and five years of being cancer free!).



Nanie treated us to Main Street Market for lunch.
Even though Lucy was the birthday girl, it was this little boy who seemed to get all of the attention...

Grady is 3 months old today, and he decided to show off his maturity this morning while watching his new favorite show, The Backyardigans.
Here is our big, strong boy...



He has no trouble holding his head up now, a trick he's been working on since birth.

Sweet Slumber

On the porch Saturday night

It was 1970 something

When a group of our friends were born.  We celebrated at Hal & Mal's in Jackson last Saturday night in full fro and go-go boots.

Grady sported  a pair of baby bell-bottoms he designed himself.

Mind you, that was after his big day at the Fall Festival....

and a quick play date with Desmond.

He and Lauchlin have work to get back to at the gallery this week after their big two month hiatus, and if he's as popular there as he was at his weekend events, business will be booming!  Of course, it's going to be lots different from the last time he was there:

Little Rebel

Grady was a hit in The Grove this past weekend. He sported his Ole Miss romper, a special gift from his Oxford grandparents.


And, even though Ole Miss didn't bring home a win, our Grady stayed for the party...
