Park Time

We've had a busy week and not much time to post more photos from our big weekend in Memphis (which we'll do later). But, we did find a little time to play outside. Grady loves our neighborhood park. Here he is in action...

Cousins

Grady LOVED visiting with his cousins, Lydia and Virginia, in Memphis this past weekend. The Fields Family drove from Knoxville for a full day at the Memphis Zoo (post to follow) and some major silliness at our hotel…

Telling Jokes

One of Grady's new favorite shows is "The Ellen Degeneres Show." He especially loves her monologue. We're convinced that he thinks the audience is laughing at his jokes. See for yourself…

Happy Boy

Part of our jam-packed weekend of glorious weather was a picnic in the military park and a stroll around the U.S.S. Cairo Museum at the Vicksburg National Military Park. 

Grady did lots of smiling to show off his eight teeth!

Dancing Shoes

We discovered last week that Grady had outgrown his favorite Keen shoes by two sizes! We made an emergency shoe purchase with Ms. Norma at Frederick's for some new kicks before heading to Jackson for Mary Dixon's wedding.

We didn't realize that we had purchased dancing shoes!

The Chill from Vicksburg was the wedding band. They had Grady dancing the whole night (two hours past bedtime, even!) Our little dancer was also quite the ladies' man. He had three older women following him around all night. We even caught one of them trying to slow dance with Grady! He did not object.

 

Grady was definitely the star of this party. Well, except, Mary was a beautiful bride!

Wheel of Fortune

Grady has become a "Wheel" watcher...

He loves to clap when the audience claps, which, if you are familiar with the show, you know is quite frequent.

Page Turner

Grady loves books! He has a lot of good reads around the house, so he often will take a brief stop along his journey to turn some pages and "read."

Shelter from the Storm

Grady and his moms spent Friday at the Spanglers' house and enjoyed their hot water, refrigerator space, and wifi.

The little one had a pleasant nap on his cousin's bean bag and watched a little Toy Story 2 while enjoying his bowtie pasta and ravioli with garlic bread. 

The family rounded out their evacuation at Ned & Mary Beth's house while sharing the company of fellow evacuees good 'ol Sandy and Bernadette.   Many thanks to everyone for sharing

Improv Night

While the power was out Thursday night, Grady dined al fresco on Amish spinach noodles prepared on the camp stove, and the mailbox proved a sturdy DVD player stand, allowing him to enjoy his daily viewing of Toy Story 3.
