Ready to Wear

Christmas has passed, but the gifts keep coming! These packages arrived earlier this week from Old Navy. Mojo was pleasantly surprised to learn they were not filled with more kitty outfits! The boxes were, however, filled with practically a whole new wardrobe for both of us. Thanks to the Foshees and their generous gift card, we will be dressed in style for awhile.

Change in the New Year

So, we realize 2008 has come and gone. And, now it's time for a new year of new blogs. You wouldn't be able to tell by our lack of posting, but we've actually been quite productive here in the new year. And, then there are some other obvious cases where we have been less than productive, but we'll leave that one alone. We thought we'd take a moment to fill you in on a couple of the more productive ones with a promise to be better about blogging from now on...

Like everyone else in the world, we have decided to begin the year with a healthier diet. So, we are on our second week of Weight Watchers. We purchased a cookbook and have been counting points like crazy! We've attempted the WW before, but this time we're serious. Last night we had roast beef and arugula salad (only four points, for those of you who care), and it was very tasty.

We also finally purchased a replacement carafe for our Cuisinart, which means our days begin a lot tastier.
Once we get around to completely putting away our Christmas decorations, we'll really have something to blog about.
Until then...

2008: It Was The Best of Times.

We learned to play a new game: Rock Band!

Olivia became an aunt.

Lauchlin and May bonded over mac n' cheese.

We took a trip to Knoxville.

We had our house blessing in April.

We met Liz and had some great times on the porch.

Lauchlin said a fond farewell to the Post.

We took many trips to the cabin in Edwards.

During Miss Mississippi, Olivia had a former student contender. Lauchlin accidentally fast-forwarded to the end of the pagaent!

Lauchlin tried out a new hairdo.

In the summer, we had pool parties!!!

When it got cold, we gathered for fire pits!!!

We played Catch Phrase with these stud muffins!!!

We got our stimulus checks.

Lauchlin's arm eventually healed.

Backyards and Beyond took off!

High gas prices finally dropped.

Modern Inconveniences

The Fields Family had plenty of problems with microwaves in 2008.

First, lightning zapped this microwave that had been in Lauchlin's family since well before she was born.

Its replacement moved in right before Thanksgiving.

Then, the day before we were slated to have guests for a birthday party, our microwave turned on us. First, it wouldn't stop running without being unplugged. Then, we plugged it back in only to have it flash on and off while making a scary sound.

Not to worry...Katherine, Lauchlin's sister, got us a brand new one for Christmas. The turntable even works, and we feel sure that we won't need an exorcist after all (and where would we find one this time of year?)!

New Friends

The Linares Family added a new little man, Gabriel Alejandro, to their family last week. We went for a Sunday visit yesterday.

Cortney and Victoria snuggled...

while we took turns holding baby Gabriel.

Heck of a Holiday Weekend

Whew!! What a whirlwind! It's kind of nice to be back in a routine today, (although Olivia took the day off anyway.) Friday was our gallery Christmas party at Crechale's in Jackson. Here, Latrice and Chris enjoy a plate of onion rings...yum! We were especially delighted to receive a special gift- an unframed serigraph of our choice each!

Saturday, we enjoyed Vicksburg's "Christmas Around the World" Parade from Sandy's balcony, and, finally, on Sunday, we decorated our tree!
