Game On

Since it's getting to be inside weather, we have reinstated game night. So far, we've managed to get together two weeks in a row. We're hoping the momentum will last. The first week we played Pictionary Win, Lose or Draw style:

We also used the opportunity to get in the cold weather spirit with chili, peanuts and Reese's Pieces (our favorite Halloween candy).
The peanuts, however, got a little sweaty from the humidity and started to glisten, which we all found fascinating - and unappetizing:

Even though we all gave it our best shot (drawing all the "difficult" categories to crank up the challenge), the win was taken by Team Rob & Sandy:

Rob (this time teamed up with Olivia) again took the win at this week's Game Night, where we played Cranium and ate chicken tacos (food and venue provided by Katie).
We didn't capture this week's festivities, but here is Katie last week with her very scandalous drawing of a fig leaf:

We hope to have our absent players from this week back in the game soon! And, who's hosting next week?!

Breakfast with Tiffany's

The gifts keep coming. This morning's surprise was a box on the front porch. Inside was another box, but this one was Tiffany blue with a white bow!
The beautifully wrapped package contained two hand-blown champagne flutes from, you guessed it, Tiffany & Co.
Clementine helped Lauchlin open the package while Olivia got a play-by-play over the phone on her way to work:

A gift from Tiffany's is not a bad way to start a day. If only we had some OJ to go with our bottle of champagne (another generous gift) and fancy glasses, we'd be in business!

But, we'll resist the urge and save them for a celebration!

Creepy Creatures

We're getting in the holiday spirit, and although Clemmie's pirate costume is too snug this year to velcro all the way closed without snatching too much fur, her hat is still purr-fect.

Capitol Idea

We are leaving DC, but here are some snapshots of the fun times we had there.

We drank large beers and frequently consulted this map of downtown.

We ate well...porkchops and fried chicken...

We spent a lot of time in this restaurant, Lapidus, which was located inside our hotel. Thursday morning, we spotted a manager peeling duck tape off the wall where one of the red dots had fallen.

We walked The Mall (2.5 miles of fun and history).

We reflected at The Reflecting Pool.

Shower the People You Love with Love

We are just now getting around to blogging about the rockin' shower our dear friends, Tom and Emily and Cortney, threw for us Saturday, Sept. 19.
Lovely corsages identified us.

Karen checked out the cream puffs...yum!

If you squint, you can see the huggies that Heather gave which read "bride."

From this picture you can plainly see that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery...also, that we do our laundry together!

Below, Lauchlin attempted to recreate Niecy Nash's look from "Clean House" using a silver bow.

Lauchlin tried on the red apron as Olivia un-sheathed the new grater.

We were so excited about the new handycam that we created videos of May the moment it was charged. We can't wait to upload future blog posts of "May's super funniest channel."

We ended the night with a round of Beatles Rock Band.
