Tummy Time

Mojo showed her future little brother some love while cuddling on the couch.

The tummy continues to grow, and our little man's kicks are getting stronger. We just hope Mojo doesn't get the boot during one of these sweet love moments.

Modern Technology

On the eve of Lauchlin's 32nd birthday and Baby Bean's 24-week milestone, we took the opportunity to go online and find out how handsome he's going to be by morphing a mom and dad picture online.  Drumroll, please....

Now that we've figured that out, we're off to spend a beautiful weekend in New Orleans after a night of manicotti on Thursday with Janie and a check-up with Dr. Ory Friday morning.  Will the fun ever end?

Beer Huggies

They've been the prize souvenir of many a high school reunion party, wedding, art fair, or school crawfish bowl. And, as the nesting phase of the pregnancy continues, they're being replaced with...

The Way We Stroll

They're all the rage in Atlanta and other art show venues, and they bare Lauchlin's middle name (or the clan from which she came.)

So, while we were eagerly looking for a way to spend the Babies R Us card Olivia received from Jay and Denise for her birthday, we stumbled upon the floor model version of this coveted MacLaren stroller...(cat not included)

And, although an employee assured us that there would still be some strollers there from the year 2009 that we could get for last season's price (cheap!) in about two weeks' time, we're not sure he knew what he was talking about.

Case in point: this is the price tag on the box they put away for us (or Lavia Sophie, actually.) Not cheap.

A long story short, they gave us the 2011 model stroller for the price of the 2009 floor model minus the gift card minus an extra thirty percent (We didn't ask why,) and "Nanie" got this Desmond-approved ride for less than thirty-five bucks! Cheap. ( Then, the three of us had dinner for the same price at Newk's,) and that's the way we stroll.

New Digs

Our "work-cation" mission was successful. We managed to — after many choice words, help and encouragement from friends and family and some major MacGyver skills — create a room with green walls and white bead board (which has been the plan for, eh hem, several years now). You will find few to no remnants of the pink paint and floral print wallpaper we worked very hard to cover. We think our little guy will enjoy his room.

Here's a peek at the finished product:

We must not forget how far we've come:
Check out this old blog post from when the work was just getting started.

The furniture is getting a re-do and will fill these empty quarters soon (and we do mean before the baby arrives!). We can't wait much longer to fill the closet and dresser drawers with the little man's growing wardrobe of tiny apparel.

Some Had Matching Tie-Dyed Shirts

...but Westside Theatre Foundation, commonly known as WTF, "has real hippies."

Olivia got to participate in the Mardi Gras Parade for the first time this year as WTF performed "Aquarius" from Hair for this year's "Peace, Love, and Mardi Gras" themed-extravaganza.
We're not sure what neighbor David Sharp, candidate for circuit clerk, and his dad, Harry, were doing, but Lauchlin snapped their photo on a golf cart during the festivities.
Here, ERDC was unofficially represented with a "Yellow Submarine."

Congratulations, WTF (no question mark) on your first parade and first place float!

No More Pink!!

We gave ourselves a head-start in readying the baby's room last weekend by painting the pink closet a more boy-friendly white...

See....Much better...

We are both off this week, and we have big plans to complete our little man's room, a task that's been a few years in the making (way before we had a little one on the way). Yes, we will finally tackle that bead board!

Needless to say, we'll have plenty to post along the way.

In the meantime, the cats are enjoying the temporary re-arrangement...
