Grady bought his Mommy a rose for Valentine's Day. Yep, he's a sweet little dude! Happy Valentine's Day!

Cannon You Handle It?

We took Grady on a drive through the military park this weekend. It was a little cold and windy, but we braved the weather to capture the first of many obligatory "Grady on a cannon" photos. 

It's like a requirement for living in Vicksburg.

By the way, this 6-month-old weighs 18 lbs. and 10 oz and is a whopping 28 inches long according to the stats we received on the 24th at his wellness visit.

Footprints

We took Grady to Oxford a couple of weekends ago to visit his grandparents and Aunt Kookie. A highlight of the visit was our trip to the Clay Canvas, where Kookie and Grandma helped us make a keepsake platter with our Beanie's footprints on it.

Five...6...Ate!

Grady celebrated his 6-month birthday Saturday by welcoming several milestones:

 


He learned how to "Give Me Five..."

He ate his first real food (sweet potatoes), which was more exciting to him in the creation stage than when it was going down, as you'll see. He did like them, though, and now he's ready to move on to carrots and parsnips. Yum!

He also entertained us with his adorable version of peek-a-boo...

We'll find out today how much this growing boy weighs. We'll report back soon with the Grady stats.

Since Grady will be 6 months old on Jan. 21, we decided to go ahead and give the rice cereal a whirl. It was kind of anti-climatic, but our hungry guy certainly didn't turn down his new culinary offering (and eating utensils)...

We can't wait to cook sweet potatoes and carrots (and, eventually, a multitude of flavorful foods) for him once the official 6-month birthday rolls around. We're pretty sure we're going to have a little foodie on our hands...especially if Sandy keeps coming around with her good food.
