Baby Love

We had a full weekend of celebrating babies. Saturday kicked off the baby shower festivities with a shower in Clinton for Lauchlin's cousin, Neal, and her soon-to-arrive baby girl, Caroline...
Grady, as the token baby, thought it his duty to entertain and help open presents.

We hosted a second-baby shower for our friends, Ned and Mary Beth, who welcomed their second son, John Daniel Mitchell, April 1, and Al and Christina, who will add a baby girl to their team in July (around Grady's birthday).
John, one of the guests of honor, doing his job of being adorable.
Grady loved playing with the big boys...

Grady showed Manu his new play spot — under the table.

Even though they're all almost two or three years older, Grady held his own with these tough boys.

And, of course, it was necessary that he help open gifts...since he's become so good at it.

As always, we had more food than we needed, including a baby buggy fruit basket we snagged from Neal's shower...

Sandy made delicious cupcakes that sported naked babies in various birthing positions.

Mary Beth test-drove a baby carrier that looks like it will work well for Team Mitchell's summer in D.C.

Christina and Baby Girl Kennedy racked up on some precious little girl clothes.

DAM, as always, was the coolest guy at the party!

Hooray for 10 Months Old!

Grady turned 10 months old today, and, apparently, he was quite excited about it. We predict we will have a walker in our very near future. Watch out world:

No weight or height to report, but t's pretty clear to see that this guy keeps growing — mostly taller. He's still wearing 12- and 18-month size clothes and size 4 diapers (we still use cloth diapers on occasion), but his shoe size has jumped to a size 5 (stay tuned for his first walking shoes, which should arrive soon).

Our Grady is so happy all the time. If he hears music, he dances. His little knees are constantly red from all the crawling he does. He squeals in delight and makes the funniest faces to make us laugh.

He's finally started working "ma ma ma" into his ever-growing vocabulary. He uses it with purpose and to refer to both moms, which is really sweet.

He still eats lots and lots of fresh produce and whole grains. Eating solids is still more of an extracurricular activity for him. He loves to taste everything, but he doesn't always like to swallow all of his bites...

The big news from Grady's ninth month is that....he sleeps through the night! He goes down at 7 p.m., (he does wake-up once to eat at around 2 a.m., but we'll take it over the every one to three hour feedings) and he's back down for the rest of the night in his own bed until he wakes up smiling and squealing at 6 a.m. More sleep for everyone has been a welcomed change at our house. We can't wait to see what this month has in store for us.

Cousin Time

We have enjoyed spending time with May and Ellen this week. They stayed with us while their mom played Bunco Monday night...
These girls had fun watching lots of mermaid shows on Netflix.

We all were pretty pooped by the time 9 p.m. rolled around. My, how things have changed at our house!!

On Thursday, May had her singing performance at St. Francis. She did a great job, and Grady couldn't help but sing along...the whole time.
May, as always, was a shining star.

Grady showed May that he, too, can sing like a star over dinner at El Sombrero.

We're looking forward to spending even more time with Grady's fun cousins this summer. They do, after all, have a pool! Yay!

First Mothers' Day

Our little man helped us ring in our first Mothers' Day, and, needless to say, it was a special day for us.
We can't wait for Grady to make us proud with his grammar usage, especially when applied this way.
Thanks, Katherine, for the laugh!

After spending most of Saturday with Olivia's mom (Grady's Grandma) in Vicksburg, we spent most of Sunday in Clinton with Lauchlin's mom (Grady's Nanie). It was nice for us both to see our moms and also celebrate the day with our Bean.

Grady and his two moms...

We sure love being moms to this silly and sweet little guy...every day.
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there.

Yay for Porch Time!

Grady stayed up a little late Friday night to enjoy the cool weather on the porch with his moms.
Cheerios and the undivided attention of two moms is all it takes to make this kid happy past bedtime!
He used his extra time in the day to bring out his newest trick — clapping and dancing along to the music...

Game On

Grady has been coming up with creative ways to stay entertained at the gallery. It is all, perhaps, more of a ploy to get his Mom to stop working and start playing. Well, it worked...

Doin' His Thing

And, his thing is this...
